加藤清正公、菩提寺の門前宿
Kiyomasa Kato, Gate Inn of Temple
「民宿 廣嶋屋」は明治時代から続く参道沿いにある築130年の民宿旅館です。
本妙寺参道にそびえ立つ、大きな仁王門をくぐると、参道の両脇に１４のお寺が並び建っています。参道を進むと、石燈籠が並ぶ１７６の階段が見えてきます。階段を上り進むと左側にお宿が見えて来ます。お宿の先、１１段の階段の先には加藤清正公の浄池廟（じょうちびょう）が建っています。
浄池廟 は熊本城天守閣と同じ高さにあり、熊本の街並みを一望することができます。拝殿から更に３００段の階段を登ると、加藤清正公の銅像が建っており、立田山、花岡山、阿蘇の稜線も見れます。
お宿は木々に囲まれ、ウグイス、フクロウなど様々な鳥の声を楽しむことができます。お宿の2階からも熊本の街並みを一望できます。 四季折々の自然で彩られた風景や、熊本の夜景鑑賞をお楽しみ頂けます。
朝夕6時には境内の鐘の音が鳴り響きます。境内にはお百度参りに来られる方もお見かけします。夜になると拝殿はライトアップされて神秘的な趣きになります。400年前にタイムスリップしてみませんか？
“Minshuku Hiroshimaya” is a 130-year-old inn located along the approach road that has continued since the Meiji era.
Passing through the large Nioh gate that rises above the approach to Honmyoji, 14 temples are lined up on both sides of the approach. Proceeding along the approach, you will see 176 stairs lined with stone lanterns. Go up the stairs and you will see the inn on your left. At the end of the inn, at the end of the 11 steps, there is the Jyochibyo of Kiyomasa Kato.
The Jyoike Mausoleum is at the same height as the castle tower of Kumamoto Castle, and you can overlook the cityscape of Kumamoto. If you climb the 300 steps further from the hall of worship, you will see a statue of Kiyomasa Kato, and you can see the ridges of Mt. Tatsuda, Mt. Hanaoka, and Aso.
The inn is surrounded by trees and you can enjoy the voices of various birds such as warblers and owls. You can overlook the city of Kumamoto from the 2nd floor of the inn. You can enjoy the scenery colored by the nature of the four seasons and the night view of Kumamoto.
The bells in the precincts ring at 6 am and evening. Some people come to visit Hyakudoishi in the precincts. At night, the hall of worship is lit up and becomes a mysterious atmosphere. Would you like to travel back in time 400 years ago?
